    Prior to joining Elmhurst Capital, Adam worked at a healthcare services company he founded and grew to over 10,000 customers. Adam will be focusing on acquisitions and improving sales and operational processes for Elmhurst Capital portfolio companies. Before founding his healthcare services company Adam spent 10 years as Director of Acquisitions at an investment real estate firm where he was a part of over 100 acquisitions valued at over $500,000.  Currently Adam is also providing consulting services for two startups, one in Fintech and one in the Bridal Industry.

    Adam McCombs Managing Partner

    Adam McCombs shares overall execution of Elmhurst Capital’s strategy, with particular emphasis on venture and growth investments in internet sectors. Adam is involved with Elmhurst Capital’s investments in JumpForward, Innovative Sports Strategies, Hema Imaging, Clippn, BMG, and Remezcla.

    Mr. McCombs brings almost two decades of experience in entrepreneurship, business and technology strategy, and product vision and execution. This experience was developed and harnessed at Cisco Systems, Inc. by growing a portfolio of multi-million dollar product lines. After Cisco Systems, Inc, Mr. McCombs founded and became the CEO of JumpForward where he successful co-led the acquisition of JumpForward with Brian Duggan to Vista Equity Partners.

    Mr. McCombs holds a degree in Management Information Systems and Accounting in a Bachelor of Business in Science from the University of Minnesota – Carlson School of Management, and an MBA from the University of Notre Dame – Mendoza School of Business. Mr. McCombs also holds two Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE – 10,116) certificates from Cisco Systems, Inc.

    Brian Duggan Managing Partner

    Brian Duggan shares overall execution of Elmhurst Capital’s strategy, with particular emphasis on financing, operations, and investor relations. Mr. Duggan brings Elmhurst Capital almost two decades of experience in entrepreneurship, real estate, finance and investments having acquired, developed, managed and disposed of more than $1 billion in real estate across all asset classes. He was previously a Director at the Harlem Irving Companies and also worked with Mesirow Financial Real Estate, Ernst & Young Corporate Finance, and UBS Paine Webber.

    Mr. Duggan has a degree in finance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a Master of Science in Accounting and Financial Management from the University of Virginia, and an MBA in Finance and Real Estate from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He is also an Illinois Real Estate Broker.

    Megan VanVelzel joins Elmhurst Capital as the newest member of the team. She supports Elmhurst Capital’s investment sourcing, underwriting and diligence process as well as ongoing monitoring and analysis of investments. Prior to joining Elmhurst Capital Ms. VanVelzel assisted with loss mitigation and asset management duties at Bank of America and Loan Resolution Corporation. Megan holds a bachelor’s degree from the Arizona State University.
